World Para Dance Sport is celebrating a fresh and dynamic new look and website as it cements its place in the World Abilitysport family.

The sport was entrusted to World Abilitysport by the International Paralympic Committee in 2024. Since then its new governing body has been working on several developments, including a new brand look and feel and standalone website – paradancesport.org – which is now live.

The new logo which forms part of a package of look elements is designed to embody the most iconic features of Para dance sport – dynamism, movement, style, grace and colour.

Two figures, formed from a single, continuous orange and blue ribbon, can be seen dancing. They are positioned next to the Federation’s name.

The colouring and choice of typeface represents the sport’s links to World Abilitysport and the logo is designed specifically to match and compliment its look and feel, bringing it into one family.

Keeping the name ‘World Para Dance Sport’, which was inherited from the IPC, defines its mission of inclusivity.

Into 2025, the sport will continue its growth and development into new and different areas.

Charmaine Hooper, CEO of World Abilitysport, said: “We are excited to launch the new brand for World Para Dance Sport which sees it take its place firmly in our community of sports which also includes Para fencing and powerchair hockey.

“Since being trusted with its governance from the start of 2024 we have held a full season of competitions. These have included regional Championships in new host countries and we have also seen countries make their debuts.

“In the future we will continue to keep our finger on the pulse and search for new ways to evolve, in close connection with stakeholders, to ensure this amazing sport and its dancers stay relevant and achieve the greatest reach. Stay tuned for much more on that in the coming year.”

The 2025 season will feature a series of competitions and events across the world, highlighted by the World Championships.

International Competitions will be held in Hong Kong, China, Amstelveen, The Netherlands, Lomianki, Poland, and Stevenage, Great Britain, from March.

The 2025 Para Dance Sport World Championships will take place in Kosice, Slovakia, from 21-23 November.
